Stakeholders Consultation Meeting for the 3rd Asia International Water Week Held in Bali, Indonesia

IWHR and the Asia Water Council (AWC) jointly organized a side event titled “Third Asia International Water Week Stakeholders Consultation Meeting”, on May 22 during the 10th World Water Forum.

This event served as a preparatory discussion for the organization of the 3rd Asia International Water Week, which will convened in Beijing during September 23-28, 2024.

The Asia International Water Week, initiated in 2017, is the flagship event of AWC. Serving as a platform for stakeholders across Asia to share practical solutions for water challenges within the region, it focuses on collaborative efforts to address water security, environmental sustainability, and effective water management practices.

The third edition of the Asia International Water Week, themed “Enhancing Our Future Water Security,” will be co-hosted by China’s Ministry of Water Resources and AWC. It will bring together government officials, industry leaders, researchers, and entrepreneurs within the region, as well as representatives from international organizations to have dialogue and boost cooperation in the face of Asia’s water challenges.

Sticking to the idea of pragmatism, insightfulness, innovation and green development, the 3rd Asia International Water Week will play its role in tackling water issues under the ongoing climate change, said Dr. Peng Jing, President of IWHR, the organizer of the event.

Participants exchanged views on the overall preparation of the event during the meeting.
